Nicole’s studio practice concentrates on themes of absence and presence that are connected to her memories and experience. With an aesthetic that is rooted in modernism her work is at the same time clinical and personal, precise and handmade. Also in the tradition of conceptual art, the materials that she uses carry meaning. She has recently become interested in family histories and how individual families effect the larger community. To explore these themes, she creates site-specific installations, paintings and sculpture.
